Frequently Asked Questions

The S50 Pro features a 4K wide-angle camera with a 63° field of view, enabling:

  • One-Tap Milky Way Arch: Automatically captures and stitches a complete Milky Way arch—no need to manually plan stitching points.
  • Milky Way Time-Lapse: Record the movement of the Milky Way and watch it drift across the night sky.
  • Star Trail Photography: Use long exposures to capture striking circular star trails.
  • 8K Stitching: Create ultra-high-resolution wide-angle panoramas that stay sharp even when enlarged.
  • Wide-Field Live Stacking: Enhance wide-field image quality in real time for cleaner results, faster.

The S50 Pro now supports Smart Enhancement and one-tap image processing, including Star Reduction, Star Removal, and Noise Reduction.

Star Reduction makes stars smaller, bringing deep-sky objects such as nebulae and galaxies into clearer focus while preserving a natural star field for a cleaner, more refined image.

Set Star Reduction to 100% to enable Star Removal, which removes stars from the image and highlights the textures, contours, and faint details of deep-sky objects.

Noise Reduction is automatically applied in Smart Enhancement.

Based on your target and shooting conditions, Seestar can quickly generate a shooting plan and carry it out automatically. Even if you are unsure what to shoot or how to set the parameters, smart recommendations help you get started with less manual setup and fewer repeated steps.

Telescope Network lets you remotely control the S50 Pro for imaging. You can also share or transfer device access, and batch-export photos after a session. Capture and access your images even when the device is not by your side—for a more flexible everyday experience.

The S50 Pro features a new two-section tripod with two adjustable leg angles. It supports a wider adjustment range, adapts flexibly to different terrain, and provides a more stable shooting experience.

The S50 Pro has 128 GB of internal storage, with approximately 100 GB available for use.

The S30 Pro is a portable all-rounder for a wide range of shooting scenarios. The S50 Pro is built for deep-sky imaging, with a larger aperture, a more capable tracking system, and richer image detail.

If portability and versatile everyday shooting are your priorities, the S30 Pro remains an excellent choice. If you want to capture fainter deep-sky objects and pursue greater imaging detail, the S50 Pro is the better upgrade.

Important Notes

Seestar series products are available in two regional versions: Mainland China and Overseas. The Mainland China version is intended for activation and use exclusively within Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau. Activation in other regions is not supported, and products activated outside these designated regions are not eligible for warranty or after-sales service.

  • Handle with care. Seestar smart telescope is a precision optical and electronic instrument. Avoid drops, impacts, or strong shocks, which may cause damage.
  • Image results may vary. Imaging performance depends on environmental conditions such as light pollution, atmospheric transparency, parameter settings, and stacking duration. Actual results are subject to real-world shooting conditions.

[1] At 1× magnification, both the telephoto and wide-angle cameras capture images at 4K (3840 × 2160) resolution. Resolution decreases at 2× and 4× magnification. The real-time live preview stream for both cameras is 1080P.

[2] Milky Way imaging requires dark-sky conditions. In areas with significant light pollution, Milky Way details may be limited or not visible. Results depend on on-site observing conditions.

[3] NFC functionality requires a compatible smartphone. Support varies by device and model—please refer to your phone's specifications.

To use NFC, ensure the telescope is powered on, the phone is unlocked, and Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and GPS are enabled on your phone.

NFC sensitivity varies by device due to antenna placement. Locating your phone's NFC sensing area may improve detection.

If the Wi-Fi name is changed, NFC information must be updated manually for NFC to work properly.

[4] Due to system usage and storage allocation, available capacity may vary. System updates may affect storage allocation. Please refer to the actual available capacity on your device.

[5] Under ambient temperatures above 25°C, with Alt-Azimuth Mode and Telephoto Sensor Stargazing Mode enabled, the battery provides up to 9 hours of runtime. Data provided by the ZWO laboratory for reference only. Actual performance may vary.

[6] 60 s long exposures are supported only in Equatorial Mode and are not available in Alt-Azimuth Mode. Accurate polar alignment is required in Equatorial Mode to ensure precise tracking. Inaccurate alignment may reduce imaging performance.

[7] A solar filter must be installed when observing the Sun. Never allow the main camera to observe the Sun directly, as this may cause permanent damage to the device.

[8] The Smart Enhancement feature optimizes noise in actual astrophotographic images and enhances the stars captured in those images. It works like beautification applied to existing photos and does not generate AI-created images. This product is an intelligent astronomical telescope, and all images are authentic captures without AI-generated content.

[9] Wi-Fi transmission range is measured under ideal conditions. ZWO Laboratory testing shows a range of up to 10 meters in an open outdoor environment without interference. Actual range depends on real-world conditions.

[10] Sudden changes such as cloud cover, rain, or strong winds may prevent task completion. The device does not automatically power off in these situations. Please confirm weather conditions before scheduling an imaging plan.

[11] Telescope Network Remote Access is available for a limited-time free trial during the beta period.
